Outlook
Express mail settings
1) Select Accounts
from the Tools
menu.
2) On the Mail tab,
click Add,
then select Mail.
The program will then take you through a series of screens
entitled the Internet Connection Wizard.
3) In the Display Name
box on the first screen, type your real
name the way you would
like it displayed in your outgoing messages.
4) The next screen will prompt
you to enter your full email address (for example, username@mydomain.com).
5) On the next screen, select POP3
from the pull-down menu. Enter your POP3 host (for example,
mail.mydomain.com) in to the Incoming
Mail Server box, and your
SMTP server
(smtp.mydomain.com)
in the Outgoing Mail Server
box.
6) On the next screen, select Log
On Using POP Account Name.
Enter your user name
(not your e-mail address), and your password
(the one provided by Island Connection).
7) After clicking Next,
you will be prompted to enter a "friendly
name" for the email
account. Enter any name you'd like.
8) On the last screen, select your method of connecting
to the Internet.
9) After clicking Finish,
you will be taken back to the Accounts
window.
10 ) Click on Properties,
then select the Servers
tab and make sure you have My
Server Requires Authentication
checked. Now click OK and you should be back to the
Accounts
window.
11) You are now ready to receive and send mail using
Microsoft Outlook Express!
